Kora Cooper

My name is Kora Cooper, and I am a native Houstonian. I was born and raised in Houston. I was educated in Houston ISD from first grade to twelfth grade. I graduated from High School for Health Professions as number 10 in my class. I then went on to college on a full scholarship at Xavier University of Louisiana where I majored in biology and minored in chemistry.

I have been teaching for 17 years. I did my student teaching in Aldine ISD in 2005 and taught there 13 1/2 years. I began my teaching career at the middle school teaching Life Science and Earth Science. Then, I moved up to the high school level and taught Biology, Medical Microbiology, Medical Terminology, and Pathophysiology.

This is my second year in Sheldon ISD. I taught biology one year at C. E. King High. Now, I am a part of this wonderful first year class of teachers at the new C.E. King 9th grade center serving the Sheldon Community, and I am excited and ready for the year.
